What we do?
Growing Change, Village by Village
We're an early-stage CSO. For five years we did the groundwork before MTF was formally set up in 2025.
We work with rural, tribal and forest-fringe communities across West Bengal, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh.
Our model is called E2T — Ecology, Enterprise, Technology. Through it, we help build community-led enterprises, keep indigenous knowledge alive, and bring learning to life in our Bodh Kendras.
Our work flows through three streams — Vana-Varsity (learning), Terrain Anveshan (fieldwork) and MTF Prayog (technology and research) — across six woven areas: agro-ecology, livelihood, education, art and culture, welfare and research.
A Record of Impact
Our Journey in Numbers
Since its informal start in 2020-21 and registration in 2025, MAGICTERRAIN FOUNDATION has reached 2000+ community members through free eye-check, agriculture and veterinary camps, delivered 182+ trainings and workshops on livelihood, art and craft capacity-building, enabled 226+ livelihoods via market linkages and agro-based training. Documented over 100,000 pieces of indigenous knowledge, and validated 10,000+ through in-silico analysis.

BEES: Beekeeping Enterprise & Entitlement Support
In the distressed tea-garden and forest fringe villages of the Dooars, Project BEES turns beekeeping into a lifeline. We help 150 households build honey livelihoods under our community-owned Buxa Bloom brand, while connecting 2,000 people to the government schemes they are owed — weaving income and social security from a single hive.

Research-Led Cultural Livelihoods
We begin with research, not assumptions — mapping skills, listening to communities. We turn that wisdom into livelihood, and archive each community's reality for generations to come.
Keeping Living Knowledge Alive
Through 23 participatory research studies, we've archived over 100000 indigenous knowledge entries — documenting and validating the living wisdom of communities before it fades, so it endures for generations to come.
Craft that Sustains Communities
Today, 167 artisans work with us. Through regular training, market linkage and craft fairs, exhibitions, we help their work reach wider audiences — turning traditional craft into steady, dignified income.

Growing food, health and hope from the ground up
Growing food, nutrition and self-reliance through ecological farming —We help communities grow their own food, nourish their families and care for the land — turning ecological farming into lasting food and nutrition security.
Impact on the ground
Our agro-ecology work is measured in lives and land. Today 150+ community members grow food and strengthen nutrition through ecological farming, and 75 households have been reached through hands-on fieldwork — building food security, one plot and one family at a time.
Action Research
Every step begins with listening. Through 12 participatory research studies, 35 community workshops and the work of 72+ interns, we ground our agro-ecology in local knowledge and real needs — so food and nutrition security grow from the community's own wisdom.
MTF PRAYOG: TECHNOLOGY
Mahul Vani AI & VanaDrishti VR
Mahul Vani AI — A voice assistant in 30+ tribal languages, offering local farming advice, photo-based pest diagnosis, and an archive of 1L+ indigenous knowledge systems. No literacy needed — it works on voice alone. VanaDrishti VR — 50 immersive training modules where farmers practice agriculture, beekeeping, dairy and more — safely and virtually — before doing it for real. Learning by seeing and doing.
